That resort is conveniently located towards Simferopol and perfectly suits both for recreation and for huge business events’ conduction right on the seashore against the mountain background. The road from airport takes about an hour and goes through some picturesque places and The Angarskyi Pass.

From Simferopol (airport):  60 km

From Kerch (crossing): 270 km along the Kerch-Simferopol-Alushta highway. 250 km along the lower highway via Sudak. This road takes much more time because of its difficulty (serpentine road), though it is also more pictorial and interesting.

Beaches:  cobblestone, breakwaters.

What to do in Alushta:

  • Plan half a day for the visit to Dzhemerdzhi mountain and the legendary Valley of Ghosts. During overcast time one can have a walk above the clouds, and take photo of amazing view on Alushta at a bird's-eye view when it is sunny. And there can be found places where well-liked film «Kavkazskaja plennica» («Kidnapping, Caucasian Style») was screened.

  • Go to the Soter Valley, where one of the Crimean wonders – a mushroom rock is situated (20 minutes by car in the direction of Sudak).

  • Go to the Djur-djur waterfall, and climb above it to the three natural baths and take a risk to swim in the «Bath of love» (30 minutes by car in the direction of Sudak).

  • Visit the church-beacon, which was built in the memory of travelers, died on waters in Malorechenskoe town (35 minutes by car in the direction of Sudak).

  • Find time for literature impressions and visit small Alushta’s museums, dedicated to renowned writers: a memorial house of Ivan Shmelev and a memorial house of Sergej Censkij.

  • Visit Alushta’s stone museum and see about a thousand of mineral examples and decorative semiprecious stones from all over the world.

  • Take children to an aquapark «Mindalnaja roshha» («Almond grove»), Alushta’s dolphinarium, aquarium, museum of nature and arboretum zoo, take a walk in a «Crimea in miniature» park

The editorial staff recommends:

  • Go for a one-day trip to Yalta, and on the way back, make a stop in the Yalta-Alushta highway in a town Kiparisnoe, next to the vividly-designed store «Vino & syr» («Wine & cheese»). As for today, this wine cellar offers the widest choice of Crimean wines, specializing in author’s ones, which are produced in small number. There one can find wines by Pavel Shvec, Oleg Repin, Usadba Perovskih, new outputs of «Esse» and «Satera», wines by new up-to-date factory «Alma Velli» and other Crimean brands.

  • Visit a funny place named The museum of house spirits, which was founded by wonderful masters. There a unique, hand-made amulet for the house can be bought.

  • Take a trip along a scenic lower highway to Sudak one day, climb the mountain to the legendary Genoese fortress. On the way make an obligatory stop on a huge pebble beach in Morskoj town. Slow trip to Sudak by this serpentine road will take you 1,5 hours, but the incredible, severe and empty of people landscapes of South-East hills and sandy beaches worth it. This road is not advised to be used during rime.

  • It is not well-known, that there is a footpath along the seashore, going from Alushta to Sudak. The lovers of long walks are sure to enjoy this road – the path goes along the beaches and it is two times shorter, than the winding highway, but there one will get much more impressions.
