Church of the Twelve Apostles is located at the foot of the mountain Palvani-Oba, and built probably in the X-XII centuries by Armenian architects for the Greek community of medieval Sudak.

Until the second half of the XIX century an ancient fresco depicting Jesus Christ and the twelve apostles at the Last Supper was discernible on one of the walls of the church (the modern name of the temple).

In 1987-1988 repair and restoration works were conducted, and in 2009 an attempt to recreate the lost frescoes was held in the church. As a result, there was a pastiche of ancient fresco paintings on the theme of the Holy Eucharist on the walls of the temple.

By the spring of 2009 the Twelve Apostles church was restored and opened for worship.
