UTES.  IN THE TRADITIONS OF THE RHINE CASTLES.

At the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, many Crimean masterpieces were created by outstanding architects.  Like a necklace of precious stones, the Southern Coast of Crimea was covered with luxurious palaces: Livadia, Massandra, Alupkinsky.  A special place among them is occupied by an elegant castle belonging to the princes Gagarins.  Now on the site of the Kuchuk-Lambat manor the sanatorium of Utes (Alushta) is located.  On its territory there is an atmosphere of calm and peace.  The central building of the sanatorium "Utes" is the former palace of the manor Kuchu-Lambat that is built in 1907 for Princess M.A. Gagarina;  near is the ancient Alexander Nevsky Church.  The castle, once called Kuchuk Lambat that translates as the Small Lighthouse, it is mysterious like a real Gothic castle.  Another decoration of the Utes sanatorium is a beautiful landscape park.  It was laid simultaneously with the Nikitsky botanical garden in the beginning of the XIX century and now has over 16 thousand evergreen trees and bushes (laurel, barberry, mimosa, Livadia cedar, etc.), in which the new buildings of the sanatorium "Utes" are buried.  Pride of the park - a 1000-year-old yew berry, 800-year-old boxwood.
