Local history almanac "Old Yalta" invites you to a guided tour of the sanatorium "Gorny" in Livia.  Participants are expected to get acquainted with a copy of the Egyptian pyramid for the rehabilitation of astronauts, an acoustic gazebo and a tunnel, at the end of which there is no visible light.

The main editor of the almanac Larisa Lysova told the travel portal that the architect of the main building of the sanatorium was the same age as the chief architect of Yalta Nikolay Krasnov, a graduate of the Imperial Academy of Arts Ivan Zholtovsky.

"A fan of Renaissance architecture believed that architecture should harmoniously fit into the surrounding nature and created the body of the sanatorium that looks like a floating gull from above," - she noted.

In the 70s a rehabilitation center for cosmonauts was created on the basis of the sanatorium after long flights.  Specially for them, two unique objects were created: a copy of the Egyptian pyramid and a rejuvenating sauna.

"Experts on the mail box number 45 worked on the creation of the pyramid with the correct section, - Lysova specified.  - A "steam room" in the sauna is laid out of wood and aluminum sheets."

Tourists will visit the tunnel, at the end of which there is no light, an acoustic gazebo, amplifying the voice, relaxing on the bench hanging over the precipice, and taking a stroll in the pine grove along the paths of Pushkin, Mickiewicz, the Count de Witt and Carolina Sobanska.  Excursion tour "Mountain air for Count Witt and cosmonaut Ryumin" will be held on Sunday, November 12.  Meeting is at 11.30 at the bus stop "Kurpaty."
